almost four leafed

” I almost had a four-leaf clover.”

That’s what my youngest son told me when he greeted me when I got home from doing another mail run.

He’d been looking through the new Spring clover that had popped up seemingly overnight around our house.

I asked him how shy of four he was….and I think that he told me that they all had three leaves….except for some that had leaves that were tucked under and looked like they might have four.

I thought, “Man….that is a positive mindset in action…”

“Almost four….”

Our circumstances are always in flux.

We don’t know what is going to happen….good or bad….and can’t really control any of the events that do come along.

That’s life, I suppose.

No matter how much we think we can orchestrate things, the opportunities shift in ways that are sometimes unexpected….and sometimes kind of sad.

But…on the other hand, the surprises in our lives can be pretty wondrous, too.

What we can control…and I think that it’s really the only thing that we can control….is how we view our opportunities and the outcomes those opportunities manifest.

We can “almost have four-leaf clovers” all the time if our heads are steered in the right direction.

That’s a good thing.

When am I going to get to the point where every clover has that potential?
