They told me at work today that I was going to have to take some (3 weeks) of Leave Without Pay to make up for taking too long on the mail route.
Apparently, that’s what they do when you go over your evaluation.
Even though I don’t get paid overtime (I’m paid like I’m salaried), they’re going to stick it to me at the end of the year because I worked too many hours.
I was bent out of shape.
That’s saying it lightly.
Then I started to put it all into perspective.
I have a lot to be grateful for.
Beaucoup things to be grateful for.
A multitude.
What a victory it would be to not let some bureaucracy steal my joy!
And…is it really a hardship to spend time away from work?
Maybe I’m looking at this demand from the wrong angle?
It does seem wrong to be penalized for working too many hours, though.
It’s not like I wanted to be there all the time….you know?
