how early is tomorrow?

Jenny was up early…and when she came back to bed, I woke up….and….then…I was up early.

I get up pretty early, anyway, so a couple of hours earlier than usual is just another hour or two of “quiet time”.

I asked her why she was up and she told me that she was worried.

Then I started worrying about her worrying.

Soon I was worrying about worries of my own, though.

Then… Sparrow woke up and said that she was scared ….calling out from the other end of the dark bedroom…..and….almost immediately….she was padding across the room to climb up in the big bed to be with us.

I got up a couple of minutes later….after everyone else was asleep again.

The Bible says to look at the “birds of the field”….how they don’t worry about tomorrow….but we end up worrying about the birds if we’re in “that mode”.

I worry.

That begs the question: “How EARLY is tomorrow?”

Creeping…creeping….creeping….tomorrow comes on its own…little bird feet in the fog.

It comes on its own.

I should pull an Alfred E. Neuman and just say, “What?! Me….?”

I don’t think that I could tell you what the “worry du jour” was 20 years ago if you asked me.

Worry like breathing….unconscious and unremarkable…unmemorable.

Ah, worry! My invisible tattoo!! My monkey friend crawling up my back! My soulmate!

WORRY!!

Action is the only worry killer that I know of.

I better have some coffee and GET ON THE ACTION TRACK!!!

I better wake up….and stop all this worried wasting of my time.

She woke up Early….

I was watching “cheap airline ticket” videos this morning….hoping I’d uncover some secret on YouTube….and, when she woke up early, Jenny said, “you should watch this….”.

OK.

What a freakish voice….and pretty cool, too.

It still doesn’t get me any closer to figuring out how to get to Denver on Christmas Eve for $40.00 American CASH.

I’m kidding….I don’t expect that.

This guy has a great voice.

Now….tell me how to fly cheap!

traveling cheap

I’d jump through the fire to get a cheap flight around Christmas….going out to Colorado.

I’d even watch this video.

Cheap is relative, though.

You can put yourself through Hell to save 50.00 and I’m not that crazy about saving 50.00.

I don’t want to go through Hell….or, even, jump into or through the fire to do this.

Easy Peasy is what I’m looking for.

I’m going to find a flight that works….and if it costs a little or a lot, I’m going to do it.

No worries, Brah!

Pregnant Family Moves into Bus to Create a Healthy Lifestyle….film by Dylan Magaster

These Dylan Magaster videos are pretty darn consistently good.

And that’s an interesting thing.

What a niche to fill….a young guy makes these videos and is good at doing it….and (I suppose) makes a living at it.

Of course, from what I understand, he lives in a van, too, so I imagine he has a lifestyle that supports pursuing creative endeavors.

But living cheap doesn’t automatically prepare you to follow your bliss.

You have to have some talent, too.

These guys built a nice bus.

“Don’t be afraid to let things go….let someone else appreciate it…” quote from the film.

That’s how you set yourself up to travel in a bus with your young family.

Good stuff….

Woodstove in a Van Home

Portlandia ruined earnest hipsters for me forever.

I can’t watch these videos and not think of the guys on the show parodying this kind of thing.

That insight considered, still, this is pretty cool.

And, different than vans I’ve seen, this one has a woodburning stove.

I’ve seen them in school bus conversions but not in a van.

Not too different than a school bus, though, so I shouldn’t be surprised.

This is all pretty interesting to me.

Could I be a gypsy with my family?

I don’t want to live in a van “down by the river”….by myself.

That would stink.

What an adventure it would be to take off and wake up to a different sunrise in a different place with my family!

I could enjoy that….for sure.

GoPro: Chasing AdVANture with Chris Benchetler in 4K

There’s a difference in a video where people are talking about what they’re going to do….and one where they’re doing.

And….there’s a big difference between sitting in the house while everybody else is sleeping…. watching videos of people “doing”….and doing.

Awwwww….what the heck….we’re always doing something.

Even when we’re sleeping.

This has one of the better “van building” sections that I’ve seen.

The guy building it for them does some beautiful work.

And….it’s nice to start with something brand new that’s ready to tear down….so you can throw some money at it and bring it up to road dog glory.

The video is pretty beautiful, too.

Snow is a good thing.

I don’t get the impression that this is “dirtbagging”.

What did we do before we could GoPro everything that we do?

we don’t sleep in ours….not on purpose, anyway

On their aquarium trip, it hit me that we went to the aquarium, too…..IN OUR VAN!!

#VAN LIFE!!

Us…in our Grand Caravan….2 child seats….gear in the back….even a little pink portable toilet.

It doesn’t compost, though.

Van life.

Sponsored van life….in a nice Sprinter…vlogging….blogging…..making some money and staying on the road.

Sweet.

These guys are talking about living in their van over the winter…and all the concerns that come with really cold mountain weather.

Sounds like they have some work to do before they leave San Diego.

There are so many ways to live!
