Getting older isn’t so bad.

When you’re really little, it’s even better.

Day in, day out….you don’t notice the days passing.

You know when your big brother is holding you too long, but you don’t pay too much attention to time passing, otherwise.

Sparrow turns one today.

That’s a milestone.

That’s a big deal.

I suspect to her, though, it’s just another day.

She has a cold, so it will be just another day to sit on our laps and “lay low”.

It will be just another day with this temporary cold and cough….except this one will have some balloons and streamers and “happy birthday” signs.

Last year, her birthday fell on Thanksgiving.

We have a lot to be thankful for.

I guess that if you think about it, the only “birth day” that really counts is the one that dials it all the way back to “zero”.

That was a big day for us parents.

I think it was a pretty big deal for her, too.
