scrollwork

My daughter is working on a school project that involves carving something like this.

It’s like this….only hundreds of times bigger….and hundreds of times heavier.

Maybe thousands of times.

It’s huge.

The artist who designed it came in today and reprimanded the “scroll team” for not being up to speed on making a perfect scroll.

Of course, he couldn’t do it….so he yelled at Zoe for not being able to achieve perfection with an angle grinder she just learned how to use.

Goofball.

Oh, well.

It’s a huge project….that’s going to be on display in Times Square in NYC…so I imagine there’s some tension as it comes down the home stretch.

A small scroll is hard.

Imagine making a scroll that’s huge.

That’s really hard.

She’s living in a high stakes world where art and technology fall in love with each other.

Love is hard.
