Here’s a couple with a nose ring and a great dog who are traveling around South America.
Dang them.
No….bless them.
That’s a good thing to be doing.
Put that on my bucket list.
But….wait….A BUCKET LIST IS SOMETHING THAT YOU TICK OFF WHEN YOU’RE DYING, RIGHT?!
I need to start working on some kind of bucket list.
I don’t know when it’s going to happen….but….it’s going to happen someday.
I mean, both making a bucket list….and….the other thing.
Time is wasting.
I spent the evening under two of our cars yesterday….and could have been wrenching on more of them.
Greasy….tired….(TIRED!!)…wrenching….
That isn’t an item on my bucket list.
You don’t put “practical” things on a bucket list.
But….you do the things you have to do NOW so that later….you can do the things you want to do.
Denzel Washington said that.
I’d like to sit at a restaurant with my family and our Great Pyrenees….eating a meal at a foreign altitude/latitude….enjoying life….blowing out the candles on every cake.
I don’t think that Appa would be as well-mannered as Occy, though.
I’d like to fix the cars in a way that would let me take a break from….fixing the cars.
I’d like to recognize that I have a hand in steering the direction that our lives take….both good and bad.
What’s a good shore to point towards?
Which way is the wind blowing?
Is it easier with the wind at our backs?
I’ll bet that it is.
The easy choice….could be easy…with the wind on my side.
This one is about the “right to roam”….in this case, it’s the Scottish understanding that private lands should be accessible to travelers and adventurous souls.
Interesting.
We don’t act like that around here.
I even have a “no trespassing” sign on the property we own down the street.
I don’t want to share….but, then again, the folks who want to share around here don’t always take such good care of other people’s property.
Maybe if the expectation was different on both sides….that care had to be taken to continue to have the right to enjoy access…..wellllllll…..things might be kind of nice.
A “right to roam” would be a good thing to be able to enjoy.
I’d say, “HOWDY, NEIGHBOR!!” if I dropped down onto the property on the other side of the fence.
It would be nice not to get shot….for sure.
Here’s the definition of “right to roam”…..from Wikipedia:
The freedom to roam, or “everyman’s right”, is the general public’s right to access certain public or privately owned land, lakes, and rivers for recreation and exercise. The right is sometimes called the right of public access to the wilderness or the “right to roam“.
