Wheels..zuh!!

This is something that folks have been doing for a while….but this time in a commercial way.

Looks like an elegant use of a widely available and recyclable material.

Cool.

And….the video is worth watching if only for a new way to say “wheels”.

“Wheels….zuh!!”

In fact, you can add “zuh” to just about any word and make it fresh….zuh!!

Mo’cool, fer sure…zuh!!

This is another great video from Kirsten Dirksen. (Click on her name for a bunch more videos!)

Keep On The Sunny Side….

The Mail Jeep is back on the road again….but vibrates pretty badly at highway speeds.

That’s unpleasant.

People don’t understand why I won’t go over 55 mph on the highway.

They want me to go 70….like everyone else in the 65 mph zone.

They tailgate…even if the other lanes are open and their way is clear.

People are funny, aren’t they?

There are lots of reasons that a car could vibrate and growl.

It could be tires.

It could be something else.

I think that I have a bad u-joint.

U-joints are cheap.

A rear differential is expensive.

I’ll change the u-joints first.

Why not walk on the sunny side of the street as long as I can, huh?

Living off the land in the Garden of Eden…(Living off the land in Hawaii)

Man.

I think that you could live “off the land” here….for sure.

Easier than in the Arctic.

For sure.

Listen to the part about how, in the Hawaiian Islands, so much of the folks’ food has to be flown in.

Even in the Garden of Eden….we end up wanting something different than manna…..huh?

Who wants manna all the time?

the numbers don’t get smaller

I saw this big chart on the news for the first time yesterday.

That’s a lot of numbers.

That’s a lot of numbers that don’t seem to be getting any smaller.

That’s crazy.

Like Alfred E. Neuman, I should be saying, “What? Me worry?” when I think about these big numbers.

Why worry?

Just play your fiddle some more.

What a big chart!

Done in R1

This commercial was too long for the Superbowl.

But….what a fun world it would be if this was the kind of commercial that we all wanted to see, huh? (!)

We all have thrift store fleeces in my family….but to have a piece of clothing that’s well made and well loved….and that you wear until it’s a broken in rag….well….that’s a good way to go, too….even if you paid a lot for it initially.

(Or….wait 15 years until you can buy it at the thrift store!!)

These guys are funny….penny whistle on the big wall!

And….they did it all in an R1.

Imagine that.

“Wolfpack”…another great film from Patagonia

This is a good one from Patagonia.

The company….not the region.

Here’s a family…once on the verge of big trouble and in danger of splitting up….who, through running and loving the outdoors, stay together and thrive.

Here’s the YouTube description:

High in the San Juan Mountains above Silverton, Colorado, a pack of runners roam. Together they traverse mountain meadows and navigate mineral-stained peaks through the rugged landscape of their backyard. The Braford-Lefebvre family chose to live here in order to raise their family wild. Through hard times and the best ones, running is their tool for experiencing life together.

It’s a good story….and it happens in a good place….Silverton, CO.

It’s good to be outside.

There’s a lot of healing there, for sure.

Tiny House in the Desert

Here’s a young couple living out in the desert in a tiny house.

A cabin.

A “tiny house”.

Description makes something cool, right?

This is a nice setup.

See the big water tanks?

They talk about the bigger house they’re building, though, so they recognize that a tiny house might not be the way to go “long term”.

They also mention that the legal issue of living in a tiny house comes into the equation, too.

Cabin or “tiny house”?

“Tiny house” is hipper.
