competency…making a pair of leather flip flops

A 20 minute video about making a pair of flip flops might not be everyone’s cup of tea….but, it’s a good thing to see this level of competency applied to anything.

These are beautiful.

And…it’s really good to see the correct way to do this and the products he used to do it.

Knowing how to do something and being able to do something are two different things.

This guy really knows how to make a pair of flip flops.

What if he Doesn’t?

I don’t take great chances.

Of course, it’s supposed to ice tonight on the roads (and everywhere else)….and the PO makes sure that I’m out there in the worst of it….but …I don’t take great chances if I can avoid it.

I don’t climb up big rocks.

This is such a crappy name for a documentary.

“What if he falls?”

What?!!

If we’re born, we’re on a path to die.

That’s the reality for everyone.

But….maybe we live while we can?

I look forward to seeing this film.

I don’t look forward to driving on the ice.

Maybe it will just rain.

Quiet (Forestry Day in the Woods: Felling an Old Pine Tree)

Any of these Northmen videos are great….and this one is no exception.

Dudes out in the woods….working….felling a pine tree without any chainsaws.

Quiet.

And….the disclaimer at the end….”work hard, stay humble”.

Beautiful.

WHERE’S MY SUPPORT VEHICLE? WHERE’S MY SUPPORT?!

Here’s some dudes on a bike trip…who have a support vehicle to meet them at the pre-arranged checkpoints.

Support is nice, I suppose.

On day three, the guys support vehicle didn’t show up.

After riding for 12 hours….the support crew wasn’t where they were supposed to be.

The camera crew was there….but the support guy was late.

Man.

Talk about a DISASTER!

Lucky that the camera crew was there.

I hope my camera crew can rise to the challenge if my support crew ever fails to show up.
